I smiled at them both. Winks seemed to be warming up to me now, and I was glad. Royal had woken up again and Korra said they were a handful. Just as I'd guessed. I laughed as he slid off of her head. "Hi there, Royal," I said smiling at him. I looked back at Korra. "Well, I think I'll stick around here, close by, so I can help you during the days if you would like?" I said hopefully. I wanted to be around cubs, but I missed my friend, too. Even Winks. Maybe we would all be friends. The thought was slightly scary, but also exciting as I thought about the future.

I glanced at Korra and then Asali and smiled a little bit more.

I laughed a little when Winks dened that they were a handful. He just didn't know. I smiled, and answered Asali. Well, I'm ready for you to help out during the day.
I wasn't sure is Winks was ready.

I froze, looking down, eyes boring angrily into the ground.
I stared at Korra, eyes blazing, ears back.
"It's nice that your telling me these things" I snarled.

I was taken back by Winks reaction. It worried me. He worried me. The cubs would be fine with a sitter, but Winks don't seem to see it. Well, relationships are built on trust, so why won't Winks trust me? Im sorry, winks. If you want to wait until they are a little older, I totally understand. I told him, in an attempt to calm him down. But I couldn't help but feel horrible about the situation. I said Asali could cubsit. And intended for her to do so.

Ok, honey. We can wait. I replied, glaring at the ground. I hated the situation Asali was being put in, and just all the complications. Royal and Tamara were now sleeping side by side, next to a little pile of feathers. They seemed so happy.

I glanced over to him. He was not happy. At all. I knew I would here more of it later, but I wanted to straitened things out with Asali before we left.

I swallowed nervously, watching the two of them bicker. I didn't want to come between Winks and Korra, I had thought Winks and I were getting along, and I knew Korra and I were. Apparently Winks wasn't ready to trust me yet, however. I looked between them with a sinking feeling in my stomach, What if Winks turned Korra against me? Or what if he just never trusted me with his cubs? I was fairly certain I'd never have cubs of my own, and now it appeared I would never have any to look after at all. I attempted to hide my sorrow with a smile. "That's fine. There's no rush. I understand." I did feel a little bad for Korra, though. It seemed she really needed some help. If I couldn't be there, I hoped Winks would at least help out a lot.

I hoped they would be okay. After all they had been through, I didn't want to see them have problems with their relationship. I wouldn't pit them against each other, no matter how much I wanted to help Korra by babysitting. Royal had fallen asleep again. I smiled at them, feeling a little sad. Then I looked at Winks and Korra again. "Maybe I should just go..." I said, standing to leave.

I was really getting annoyed by Winks. I understood that he wanted to keep his cubs safe, but it still eluded me that I couldn't receive help. I mean, it wasn't like Asali would be left alone with them, she would nearly help me take care of them. I could here the trace of sadness in her voice. I had let her down. when she stated that she was leaving, I shot Winks a look, saying "I need to do this, we can talk later." Winks? Could you take the cubs back to the den? I've been needing to stretch my legs, and the cubs are tired. I said. Would you mind if I took a walk with Asali? We'll be back before sundown. I smiled, and awaited his answer.

I turned away, piking up my cubs. Korra ans Asali were acting like i never helped but i helped most of the day.

I gave him a greatful smile, Thank you, Winks. I don't know what I would do without you. I winked, and turned to Asali.

Korra spoke up before I could leave and asked Winks to take the cubs to the den so we could take a walk. I watched Winks pick up the cubs without a word. He was clearly upset. I'm ruining everything, I thought dejectedly. My smile faded as he turned away. I looked at Korra with a sigh. "I'm sorry," I said softly. She encouraged Winks and turned to me. "Lead the way," I said, my smile returning a bit. I rather liked the idea of leaving the tension for a bit, but I didn't want to leave things with Winks tense. I wanted us to get along. I thought about the last time I'd seen him while I walked off with Korra.
