I stayed alert, and turned my head, and flicked my ears, trying to pick up the danger. It was mid- afternoon, and not many were out, due to the heat. But the danger was still there. A branch cracked behind me, and I spun around, standing face-to-face with the danger. A younger male tiger, about a year younger than myself, was right behind me. "You're in my territory." The young male said in a cocky tone. His posture suggested he was dominant, but his eye contact was submissive, he wouldn't make much eye contact. I smiled smugly. "Sorry, Kid. " And with that, slashed him under his eye. Wile he was wincing with the sudden pain, and analyzing what had happened, I used my strength to knock him over, and pin him to the ground. "Get lost. And if I ever..." I paused to growl, intimidating, and scaring him. "This territory is mine. Let your new scar be a reminder." After, I got off, and let him run. I walked back to my den confidently, knowing my family was safe.

Tanni heard the voices, the loyal, protective one of Orion, and the scared high pitched whine if a small male. *he could hurt Kalu!* she instantly thought, but heard the small male dash away in a pained cry. She sniffed the air and pulled around Kalu protectively.

Don't worry. It's just me. I said reassuringly. Kalu was curled up next to her mom.

I nodded and got up, Kalu mewling for me to come back. "I'll be right back" I yawned and looked at Kalu, so helpless, but growling quickly.

It's ok, the dumb kid is gone. Ad he's not coming back. I told her. Kalu was over on the other side of the den, calling for mom.

I nodded before heading out. I licked Kalu and nuzzled Orion before I left. I trotted outside, the warm air felt nice in my pelt. I trotted and raced into the pool of water, it splashed over my nose and I laughed happily as I swirled around.

This was the first time I had actually had Kalu all to myself, and I got to examin her more closely. She was a pretty mix of both of us. She had my fur, but her mothers stripes. She was built like me, but had a sort of class like her mom. Kalu was crying a little now, but I licked her, and she stopped. She would be doing much for a few more weeks, nit untill her eyes opened.
