My paws stretched, claws extending as they flexed, then retracting as I stood. I yawned and looked around. I had come across this place the night before, while in search of a place to sleep and possibly a nice meal. I had only found one of those things when I came across a den amidst the flowers of the valley. Today, I was feeling the effects of going to bed without dinner, and my stomach growled as I left the den and started wandering around. It seemed I was alone for now, but I wasn't in any hurry to meet whoever might be in charge around here. Not unless he was careless with his food. In that case, I'd have an easy breakfast before I hit the road. I put my nose in the air and sniffed, seeing if I could catch the scent of a rabbit or bird, something small and easily caught.

Chino Male Ocelot
I walked into my den, the baby eagle in my mouth. I gasped as i saw the Lynx. "Hey!" My voice was muffled from the feathery body.

I caught the scent of some type of bird, already killed by the way it smelled of blood, but before I could take a step towards it, I heard someone moving outside the den. I ducked inside in an attempt to hide, but the male ocelot walked right inside, the eagle in his mouth. He gasped and I stared back as he spoke around the feathers. Hey! he said, in surprise. "Why, hello there," I said sweetly and innocent-like. I smiled, pretending I did nothing wrong by being here in his den. "Is that for me?" I asked with excitement coloring my tone.

"No, it's not for you" I growled, eyes narrowed. I didn't like this cocky female ... she was obviously a cub by her size.

K A P A L A Female Ocelot
Today was a typical day. Warm breeze blew through my fur as I stood on a branch, overlooking the valley. The flowers were all in bloom, wild reds, and fiery yellows swept through the cool yellows and greens. I breathed a happy sigh, and settled down, not expecting anyone to disturb me. The Vally was quiet, and calm, just the way I liked it. But soon, a three scents came to me, and forced me to investigate. A familiar figure Cheno, a fresh kill, and a new sent. I walked gracefully over to the area, staying back quite a bit.

The male was not amused by my antics and growled his response. "Well," I said indignantly. I shrugged and sat down. My stomach growled then and I put a paw to my stomach. I looked up with big eyes and a sad expression. Then I looked away quickly. He was bigger than me though not by much, and smaller than the other big cats I had come across before. He was lanky, were my figure was stockier. I had longer fur and he had bigger eyes. We both had spots, however different. "So I guess you live here," I asked with a sigh, though it was almost a statement.

"Well, you do now" I let myself relax, and dropped the kill. "Here ... you need it more than me, i guess" I managed an easy smile. A scent caught my nose and i turned. There was Kapala. I licked my lips and called out to her.

The male's demeanor changed and then he offered up his kill. You need it more than me, I guess. My eyes lit up. "Really?" I looked at the eagle. "Thanks!" I said happily. I walked over and laid down with the eagle, wrapping my paws around it, and dug in. The feathers were annoying at first, but once I got around them, I was able to enjoy the taste of fresh meat. There wasn't much to the bird, but once I'd eaten enough to sustain me for a while, I pushed the leftovers to the male ocelot. "Here, you have the rest," I told him. Normally I would be more interested in getting what I could for myself, but today I was in a slightly better mood, and felt more generous. As I pushed the bird over, the male turned his head, apparently sensing someone else nearby. How did I miss that? I asked myself. I was off my game. I should be more observant. I looked in the direction the male looked and waited for the arrival of this other cat, whom this male must know.

I heard a little conversation going on between the two, but I couldn't make out much, other than they shared a kill. I was hidden in the many colorful flowers, not more that 200 meters away from the den. Cheno seemed to notice my presence, and called for me. I told him wasn't here, as a joke, before walking to the den. Cheno and I weren't mates, and I didn't see us as being anything more than good friends. But that could change... Anyway, the other cat that I sences earlier, was about my size, and a beautiful lynx. "Well, Hello. Im Kapala" I said, dipping my head politely at the stranger.
