Plot Idea - Winks and Korra's relationship has crashed and destroyed their little family in a lot of ways. Caught in the middle of everything is Korra's best friend, Asali. While she loves her best friend and only wants her to be happy, Asali is against the way Korra handled things. Asali is torn whether to help her friend, or the family she left behind. But she made a commitment to Winks when she joined his coalition, and she cares about the cubs she helped raise. And, Asali also believes that deep down, the Winks she first met, the playful, happy, somewhat immature Winks is still inside of the serious new version. Now Asali has to find a balance between the two sides of this disaster.
Continuation - From what I've read on Winks' little bio in Emily's character tracker, Winks has a little crush on Asali.  What I'm thinking is that Asali's feelings for Winks are going to grow as they struggle to help Tamara find herself again, and then she's going to have to ask Korra is she has a problem with them becoming mates, maybe even before she tells Winks? And maybe they'll keep almost telling each other, or almost acting as more than friends. And maybe Asali become a maternal figure for Tamara in Korra's absence and puts a little stress on her friendship with Korra? In the end they'll still be best friends though.

This would all happen after Asali returns from her stay with Korra, after Korra miscarries? if that's what is happening. Once she realizes Korra will be fine with King, because she's going to be dying to get back and check on Tamara.

I like it  Maybe Asali will help Winks heal from this all, too. I think that Asali and Winks getting together will put a strain of guilt on Korra, as she still has a soft spot him. But that's good, because she should feel guilty about betraying Winks. But yeah, really great idea! |

Yeah, they really should be friends, because Korra really did like him, and I wold hate to see them split compleatly.

Yes! ^^ Asali would have a hard time being with Winks if she lost Korra as a friend, or if they couldn't all be around each other. So Emily and I can finish our thread up and then Asali can go see Korra. =)
