Zora didn't shy away when Dolmio approached her, instead she splashed him slightly with her tail, feeling a playful urge weld up inside of her. She watched the dark male make his way to the more shallow areas of the river. Zora began to swim the width of the river, enjoying the sensation of the cool liquid washing away the grime of the day.

I watched Zora swim, watching her agile, sleek movements. Sitting down, i studied her and smiled softly. "Your utterly gorgeous" I whispered to myself, thinking of the future. With a female like that and a couple more, we could make beautiful cubs.

Zora felt his eyes watching her, and the sudden feeling of cold fear began to creep back into her body. Zora swam to the other side of the river, standing opposite to Dolmio. "Thank you for the fun but--I must go off and hunt. Gotta get somethin' to eat." She said quickly, giving him a warm smile before trotting down the bank of the river, her fur dripping slightly.

"Oh ... oh, okay!" I forced a smile, saddness showing in my eyes. "Hope i see you around, Zora!" I called after her, face falling when she turned. My belly grumbled and i looked down, took a drink and sloped off.

Zora watched him go and then cursed herself. "You coward. One day, one day you'll trust him." She thought to herself, as she trotted off, beginning a hunt.

Filled with hope and a full belly, i make my way back to the stream. I take a drink and have a little doze and then get up. Dripping and soaked through, i jog to the Oak. I jump onto the lowest branch a climb a little higher, scanning the ground and the sky before i settle down. "Watching and waiting" I sigh, head resting on my paws. An image of Zora throwing her head back and laughing while she splashed me filled my head and i snorted as if to erase the memory. I sit up when it stills doesn't clear and leap from the branch. Landing hard on my paws, i sprint away from the tree. "A little excersise won't hurt" I pant, tired already because of my heavy black coat.

Zora had been tracking a small group of zebra, a herd that was small compared to most. After a fun day playing in the water, the dark lioness had planned on attacking a fat, healthy zebra--she wasn't in the mood for an easy hunt. So, she had set her sights on a plump female, her fur bright and her eyes clear with youth. Zora crouched low, her belly level with the ground and claws spread out. She circled the herd silently, her eyes locked on her target and as soon as she was down wind of the herd, she attacked. With remarkable speed, Zora bolted forward, her claws hungry for flesh, her fluid movements no match for the unsuspecting zebra. The chase was longer than anticipated but soon Zora was close enough to make a lethal swipe at her prey. Zora leaped into the air, landing on the back end of the zebra, her claws latched into the flesh of the beast. The zebra let out a frightened cry and Zora used her back legs to slice open the Zebra's hind ones. Soon Zora had over taken the striped beast and she was near the Spreading Oak. Zora tumbled to the ground in a heap, her body resting next to the zebra. Life had left the young female's eyes and Zora was left with a plentiful meal.

I sat and watched as Zora took the zebra down and the herd ran off. He cursed but smiled. He had been stalking the same herd and now Zora had gotten the better of them ... and him! I walked over to Zora, slowly. I coughed a few metres before her and smiled as she started to stir. "Sorry, but i couldn't help scolding you. You scared off my prey" I chuckled, sitting down.

Zora turned around, expecting to see a scavenger making a move on her meal, her face wasn't exactly pleasant to look at. Scrunched up in a snarl, blood all on her face and down her front. She quickly banished the snarl from her face and smiled warmly at Dolmio. "Terribly sorry 'bout that." She started, "There's more than enough for me--you're welcome to have some." She offered, stepping aside to let him have a leg or two.

"Oh no, that's fine. It was just because i was bored that i was hunting" I smiled and took a few steps closer, lying down on my tummy. "Not seen you in a few days" I chuckled warmly, eyes scrunching in a happy grin.

Zora laughed uncomfortably, not daring to resume her meal, she didn't want to seem rude, "Yeah, I've been around. Been avoiding this area." The dark lioness was no longer in heat, so she felt it was safe to come back, she tended to disappear whenever that time came to her.

I nodded knowingly then looked up at the sky. The rain started to splatter down, and i put my ears back. "Do you have a cave you can spend the night?"
