Kalu gnawed the rock for a second, but saw her mother sprawl out on the ground. Happily bouncing over, she jumped up, and lay on Tanni's tummy. The smell of her mom mad her feel safe.

Tanni purred as her lovely kitten curled into her. Tanni stayed still, hardly daring to breathe. She sighed in content and started to sleep as the sun warmed her fur.

Before she drifted into sleep, Kalu wished "I love you" before shutting her eyes, and slipping into sleep. The sun was nice and warm, making it a nice napping spot.

Tanni felt Kalu kick from her dreams, but the were soon drowned out by the rhythm of her own dream. Fish danced through the sky, and tall trees filled with birds. The fish were way to catch, a great meal. But a little cub was pouncing through the trees. Kalu. Kalu lept down, 20 birds in her moth at once, a sign that more great hunts from her cub would come.

They napped for hours. Kalus dream filled with strange things. A cobra slithering towards her. A sighn that evil will strike. She jumped up from the nightmare, panting. When she realized it was only a dream, she slipped down, back on her moms furry tummy. But she stayed awake.

Tanni didn't feel Kalu wake up, and the dream continued on. She whined happily, even in her dream Kalu was amazing!

Kalu sat up, and scanned the horizon. Not much more than a lake, and a tone of flowers. Lakes were fun. Pouncing off, Kalu went and nuzzled her mother, trying to wake her up.

Tanni shook her head and blinked her eyes wearily. She flipped over to one side, and was surprised to see Kalu in her face. Tanni smiled and stuck out her tounge, letting out a yawn, and giving a great big lick to Kalus face, almost knocking her over. She sat up and wondered why Kalu had woken her.

Momma? Can we go swimmin'? Kalu asked in her sweet cub voice. She also managed to do puppy eyes.

Tanni stared at the lake, it was calm and the edges looked shallow. Tigers love to swim, and if bet Kalu would love to learn, she thought quietly, and nodded, laughing at Kalus begging face. "I'll show you how's it's done" she teased playfully.

She turned my head, and smiled a thanks. Would you come swimming with me? Kalu asked in her cub voice.

I slid gracefully into the water, treading the banks, just beyond we're Kalu could reach. "Come to mommy Kalu" she insisted, hoping the cub wouldn't be scared of the neck high water.

Without even hesitating, Kalu plunged into the water. For a second, she was unsure of what to do, but then as if it were instinct, which it probably was, she started paddling towards her mom.
